i was looking through the video properties of my 9800-pro and in smartgart, it says AGP speed is off, i try setting it to 8x, then it says it needs to restart to check the setting, and when it does, it goes back to off.

in my BIOS AGP Aperature size defaults at 64, so i kicked it to 128, but there is no where there to set the speed

If you run DXDIAG, does it say that AGP TEXTURE ACCELERATION is disabled?

If so, you need to reinstall your drivers. Motherboard and then video card, I believe.

Man, I feel your pain. I've been through this. For me, the sol was to install my motherboard drivers. In them is the AGP driver designed by my manufacturer (Asus). When you go to dxdiag, does it have AGP texture acceleration grayed out? This problem is definately worth fixing. After I got it working, the inprovement was significant

on the Shuttle website, the only options available for driver downloads are:

RAID, Chipset, LAN, Audio, and USB 2.0

Try looking for AGP drivers from your chipset manufacturer. The rolling lines might be a power interference problem. There are numerous websites online about the issue. The solution to the rolling lines seem variable and not guaranteed. Good Luck!

Hmmm, Don't know about the scrolling lines. That does sound like an RF interference issue though. Try emailing the omega drivers guy on his site or posting your question in the driverheaven forums.

The rolling lines problem is a fault with a few Radeon 9700/9800 cards. You might have to RMA the board and get a new one.

If you have a tv or a fan or something else that might not be well shielded it can make that kind of interfernece.
