won't reboot without clearing cmos

just set this system up and runs great with one big problem. If I turn it off or need to reboot, it won't. I have to clear cmos everytime. then I get a checksum error and have to hit f1 to continue. Can anyone help. Have I missed a setting? When I flashed my bios from windows it rebooted fine, but no other time. thanks

might be the battery but memtest your ram at default speeds. up the volts a bit to get a little stability if its that bad.

well, memory can go bad. i think its that myself. you should try memtest and see if its errorring. it may or may not, but its a start.

are you getting any beeps on your failed posts?

After flashing to bios 14 and installing the lastest drivers, everything is running great. now I have an "remove device sately" icon that stays on my tray. any body know how to get rid of it. thanks.

You get that icon probably because of the presence of a hot swappable SATA drive. Click on the icon and see if it mentions which device you can "unplug", and if you want to get rid of that icon, try hiding it (taskbar properties, "Customize")
