Hey Guys...
I have never run into this before - I am trying to uninstall a game from my kid's PC (Simpsons Hit & Run), and I am getting some wierd error message. Whether I go through Add/Remove in CP, or through the Start Menu uninstall option itself, I get a pop-up box that tells me it can't uninstall. Below is what it states:
SetupDll\SetupDll.cpp (439) pAPP:The Simpsons Hit & Run(TM) pVENDOR:Vivendi Univeral Games PGUID: $7.1.100.1248 @Windows XP Service Pack 2(2600)IE 6.0.2900.2180
Then i get a install shield error -5001 (clean out temp, check internet connection, close open programs)
I tried uninstalling in safe mode to no avail.
Now, out of curiousity, I wanted to find the target of the uninstall link on the Start Menu, and it pointed to my system32 folder, then to a rundll file, then to what looks like a registery folder, and then another setup file???
Now, I have always seen the uninstall folder in the actual game directory itself, but this is the first I have seen that points to the system32 directory, then to another?
I know this is a shot in the dark, as I tried to google and it does not seem as though it is a common thing.
All I am basically wanting to get out of this is to get rid of this game from my kid's pc. Any insight would be greatly appreciated.
