Won't let me save in oblivion!?

Im playing Oblivion. This just began out of the blue, it was saving fine until i saved a moment when i was at roland jenseric's cabin. Now it won't actually save for me, it doesn't overwrite the games. I till tell me that the save was success full but it didn't really save 🙁 blah.
il go test this with another char.

Again, we need details.

Exactly what do you see on the load screen?
Did the save not show up at all?
Is there an error saying the save is corupt?
Did it just not save the new data and only load up the previous (old) save data?

WE NEED INPUT!!

You have got to be kidding me, Looks like the char is the problem. I started a new one and it saves fine. Thats just great .

Sorry,
I get no errors at all, its acting like there is nothing wrong. Except the game never saves.

You know how you go ESC ---> Save game ---> chose slot , then it says save successful. But for me there is no saved game.

In other words, the saved game never showed up at all. 🙁

Hmmmmmm......
OK, I got an idea.
You will have to look it up at Gamefaqs.com, but apparently there is a console command to save games, you can even give them names if you like. (As opposed to "save001", "save002", etc.)

K well, It was something about the Autosave file that caused all the issue, i got rid of it and made a new one and it now works. Oh yea Thanks for the Console tip, i can now give names to my save files 😀 thanks!
Oh btw, its
save <name> [1] Saves the game using the name specified. Using the optional "1" will also save a text file (name.esm.txt) which contains information about the saved game.

Unfortunately, i lost the 2 hours of game play 🙁

Thats the only thing that sucks about open RPG's like Elder Scrolls and such.
If you lose a save game you could be set back HOURS and DAYS and maybe not even remember everything you did.
Way too much stuff to do and you dont always want to have to do it over.

that's because "autosave.bak" is not documented 😛

rename it to "autosave.ess" and your last corrupted autosave is dumped in favor of the previous good one 😉

you usually only lose a few minutes

and *save often*
