Some help here please.

At home sick today so I thought I might catch up on some gaming. My other comp is the spec's
as shown. Anyways I installed a Demo TimeShift Mp and while installing it asked me to update the vid driver. I've never had probs with the driver I have so I didnt worry about it. While in game it locked up so then I installed the driver LOL. I then went to another demo Crysis which I have played before Np and I got a lock up again. I hate turning the pc off via the switch but I had no choice. I did it about 4 times.

I now have gone and deleted the new driver to reinstall my other and when I boot up all looks and sounds fine but it wont boot to windows. It runs through the windows loadings but then the screen goes blank.

What are your thoughts?

Seeing as how you have your cpu pushed pretty high at 3.6GHz, first thing to try is putting that and anything else you have overclocked back to stock settings. Once that's done if it still doesn't boot into windows then let us know.

I have dropped back to 2.6 and all as default. Sorry about the slow reply, just got back from Harbin North China, -27 f LOL

Also I have a boot cd from "Haking live" I can run Lunix OS with no issues all works fine so I dont think its HW or Bios settings?

Rosibell< I do but I cant boot up to use it

you didn't have to uninstall, you could have just done a driver rollback..This would have taken the drivers back the ones that worked fine for you.

What are your thoughts?

What happens in Safe Mode?
What happens in VGA mode?

If you can boot in one of those modes, install the appropriate driver files, and you're done.

ok! This has now appeared after hitting f8 for safe mode <Windows root> \system32\ntoskrnl.exe.

I think I should run the xp cd and do a repair????

again... What about VGA mode?

Did the \ntoskrnl.exe error only just happen, or has it happened all along?

A chkdsk from the XP CD might not be a bad idea.

I can't parse what you're saying. Please answer each of my questions in turn.

1. What about VGA mode? Hit F8 and select VGA mode.
2. Did the ntoskrnl.exe error only just happen, or has it happened all along (while in safe mode)?

The ntoskrnl.exe has only just happened in safe mode. Before, pressing F8 it would get to my password.

Now everytime I boot wanting to use safe mode it comes up with that error
