just got my mobo ( 8RDA+ ) and xp1700

everything is set to go but when power it up, case fan blow for a second and turns whole thing off....

is this something to do with the mobo or some kind of safety reason ?

the psu is POWMax 400w......
memory ---- 2 256 kingston hyperx 3000

please help thanks

are there any beeping noises? it could be the motherboard's failsafe. make sure everything is in right esp proc +hsf
also try booting without pci cards/hdd etc... if none of that works try the processor in a different mobo and a diff proc in that mobo.

Don't try to run the system until you've confirmed that the heatsink's stepped end is at the top end of the CPU socket. This is a super-important thing. Photo showing stepped end of typical heatsink The step is there to provide clearance over the solid-plastic end of the CPU socket, which is at the top edge of the board for the 8RDA+.

Yes there is very quite beeping noice that i had barely hear but it's there...

and from MOBO post FF....i'm looking into this FF posting......but ppl who had FF are pulling their hair out....

as for the HEATSINK...going to check on that right now
