Greetings,
I just purchased a used notebook and now trying to use it, the DVD drive refuses to open up. Pressing the button garners no response at all from the drive. I can still insert a paperclip and open it up and then the drive will read cd's just fine, but for whatever reason just refuses to open when the button is pressed.
There is the rare occasion--such as when it's in the middle of reading a cd--it will seem to want to respond and it will open when I press the button. Is there anything I can do to fix this, outside of getting a brand new drive? Can I take it apart? Is this a frequent notebook problem?
The notebook is Compaq V3015NR
Thanks.
