Wondering if my 350w PSU is sufficient??

Well as the title says, I'm looking to find out if the 350w PSU I have is sufficient since I am upgrading my video card soon and it is recommended to have a minimum 300w

PSU:
Antec Smartpower SL350w PSU

Drives:

WD 120gb SATA
Pioneer DVR-108 DVD/RW

CPU:
AMD A64 3200+ (no OC)

Video Card:
Currently a dying Radeon 9000, will be replacing it with a 6600GT or a 6800

Fans/Lights:
Gigabyte PCU31-VH CPU Fan
2000 RPM Blue LED 120mm Case Fan
1500 RPM Blue LED 120mm Case Fan
Antec Illuminate UV LED Tube

probably will be enough, how many A on the 12V rail? 6800's draw a lot of power under load...

Yeah amps. It's probably enough. A quality brand 350W PSU is better than some crap 500W (Antec is good).

It's more than enough.

Just a pet peeve, but PCI-Express and PCI-X aren't the same thing. PCI-Express is PCI-E or PCIe or something like that. PCI-X is a different standard that has seen most of its use in server applications.

It would probably just start randomly shutting down and/or rebooting, but you'll be fine.

LOL, finally bothered to look up the A on the 12v, it's 16A

And the PSU is a smartblue (so it has a blue LED in it o0o0o0o0o!)

lol my PC is in my room..when I turn the TV off it makes no difference to the light level in the room because of the case and all its lights

that is not sufficient.

it might run but dont be surprised if it locks up and crashes sometimes

i would get a new PSU.

The PSU linked to is by no means a powerhouse...and the fact that Antec hasn't got the greatest track record for taking abuse (like overtaxing it). perhaps it's time for an upgrade. There are five or six PSU's in the 50-70 dollar range that are really good buys, and will handle virtually anything that you throw at them.

I personally wouldn't trust the True Blue 350 on any modern setup.

Symptoms of PSU problems are often blamed on the OS, to include: Random crashes, data corruption, general instability, and in extreme cases, motherboard damage, HDD destruction, and Graphics card destruction. How do I know? I had a middle of the road PSU give up the ghost on power-up and took out half of my setup with rapid fire overvolts. I now only run Server PSU's.
