I have an English browser IE5 and Netscape Communicator 4.72 but I was wondering if I could make it read websites that are in other languages eg Chinese, Arabic etc.
Is there a a function I have to change within the browser or do I have to download a program to do it.
Thanks in advance.

true, also some of the websites that use foreign characters sometimes have a section where you can dl the plug in to properly see those characters.

I'm not quite sure if you're asking whether the characters of other languages will appear correctly or if you're looking for translation.

As said by others, WindowsUpdate will give you options to install plugins to read the characters of another language correctly.

http://doc.altavista.com/help/search/babelfishinfo.shtml offers an Internet Explorer plugin called "Babelfish" that will translate to/from English in some 5 different languages. I don't know if the languages you're interested in, though, are part of the 5.

If you want the plugin, read the page above and then click on the
http://206.204.3.68/DOWNLOAD/win32/EN/AVTools.EXE link and install the program.

Thanks for the replies guys, off to see what I can get.
It is a shame that so much information goes unread becasue language is a barrier, but hopefully there is an easy way around this.
Sorry about all the reposts, my browser kept on freezing up so I pressed refresh a few times. Good ole 56K connection.
Once again thanks for the help.

I downloaded all the different language files from the Microsoft Update site and still can't get my browser to translate languages.
I gone to the View --> Encoding and then choose all the languages and still wouldn't translate.
I also downloaded that AVTOOLS.exe as suggested but I have got no idea how to work that. It takes like 1 sec to install and thats it nothing else comes up, no directory to install to, nothing in the Program files.
Any other suggestions??

Thanks

You may not need the plug-in. Try going to the link I gave you at your other post (that's BabelFish). Then copy the URL of the page you want to translate into the box at the BabelFish page and pick the translation you want. BabelFish only works for a few languages, as I suggested.

Yup got it, Thanks for all the help.
That Intertran works great, but a little slow, BabelFish is quite fast.
Thanks again for all the help.
Much appreciated
