Wondering about my Processors Heat

Hi,

I have a 3.0E prescott processor ocerclocked at 3.2, and my temperture is hovering around 61C and 64C, when it is not overclocked it hangs around the same temperture. Is this too high for a stock Intel HSF? I am thinking of getting the Zalman 7000a. I am just wondering if the temperture is too high right now, even when it is not OCed. Then again this is a Prescott and they do tend to run hot!

THanks

you should get a better hsf when overclocking, so yes, go for something different. zalman's are quiet, but dont cool quite as well as thermaltake. i guess it depends on your budget tho.

make sure you have some artic silver compound they really do help alot compared to thermal pads or stock thermal compound

i've noticed a 8C difference during load since using artic silver and my old thermal compound

yeah either go thermalright/as5/vantec fan or just get water cooling if you are gonna overclock these things and wanna keep that temp low

i use water cooling on my prescott and still get near 60c temps at times
with my sp-94 i would get near 70c so i recommend good cooling and get those voltages as low as you can with it still being stable

good luck
