Wondering about HD video with a 6600GT AGP card.

I'm thinking of building a HTPC around an older E7205 motherboard and 2.53Ghz P4. It has AGP and I was thinking of buying a 6600GT to get Purevideo support on this box. I do love the Purevideo on my 7800GTX, but that's not an option because of cost and lack of PCI-E.

I do remember reading something about HD output on Apples 30in cinema display requiring 256MB frame buffer. Would 128MB frame buffer be enough for 1080p and does the 6600GT have enough horsepower to aid the 2.53Ghz in playing back HD video in real time?

Thanks in advance for any guidance.

Yes, HD decoding works well on the 6600GT. System memory is probably more of a factor than video mem.
HD decoding does not work on the 6800GT + ultra even though they are faster more expensive cards for gaming.

Yeah, I had read up enough to know that either I would need a 6600GT or a 7800GTX. Since this is for a HTPC only, I think I'll go with the slightly less expensive option :).
