Everyone was not literally "waiting for bread to rise". Ever hear of an "expression" to explain something? They literally did not want to wait too long and not be able to leave. Do like Motionman said and google "Passover". I can't explain it any better to you.

It is all explained on the Wikipedia page for Passover that you might have seen if you had bothered to actually try to look it up.

MotionMan

On a quick scan of that page, the most important act seems to have been marking your door with the blood of a lamb. The whole having to forget about the bread bit seems fairly incidental to the whole event.

If the bread had already risen then things would have worked out pretty much the same with the bonus of you being able to have decent sandwiches all year round. If they hadn't done the dowsing the doors with blood bit then the outcome would have been a bit different.

So why remember the bread not the blood then?

No, MotionMan. You can eat bread during Passover, you can drive on Saturday, you can eat a cheeseburger, shellfish, and pork, and you can skip temple on Yom Kippur.

All day long I'd bitty bitty bum, if i were a wealthy man!

Don't know why but I though of Tevya dancing reading this thread

Really?

I thought it was "If you cant explain something start insulting people".

But there you go, different courses and all that...

Why would I bother explaining it to you? You refuse to read (not scan) the wikipedia page where 99.9% of your questions would be answered. And, all of my answers would be mocked anyway.

It is much more satisfying, and more productive, to simply call you names.

OK.

So the upshot of this thread is that you chose not to eat some bread for awhile then you chose to start again.

And that you are the kind of prick that insults people when they get confused.

No, the "upshot" is that you are not actually confused, but, rather, you are a troll that I happen to have time to play with.

If you are really confused, read the wikipedia article on Passover. Then come back here tomorrow (to allow sufficient time for you toy complete your homework) and I will be happy to answer any of your questions about Passover.

sounds to me like he's an antisemite.

He is worse than that: He is against everything while not being for anything.

He is like those people who shoot down ideas without having any of their own.

Honestly, he is too ignorant to make a good Anti-Semite.

I was actually suggesting that you were confused and thats why you were getting narky.

Me? I'm not confused at all. Thats why I'm not insulting people.
