hahahah

Did you email the seller telling them that they'll have payment by tonight?

He might post negative feedback in another hour if you don't! lol!

Tell him you need time to convert your Darseks into Dollars, because it's hard to find a Klingon Bank these days.

😀

One wonders if perhaps the first email was some automated thing (perhaps by eBay) and the second was the seller sending an email, thinking he needed to comply with eBay rules about buyers and sellers contacting each other. It is wise to reserve judgement until one can ascertain the true situation.

yeah that's usually what I do too.

However, I haven't been winning too many auctions lately without people outbidding me by <$1 🙁

Was trying to win a laptop for my wife (bought one off FS/FT) so i need a wireless setup (keep loseing! ahh!) and bid on a few FF games. trying to get them all heh.

Ebay doesn't send any automated invoices. I say the seller is a n00b who hasn't a clue what he doing.

I thought eBay had a time frame on sending reminders?

*edit* from eBay:
Step 2: Send a payment reminder (optional)
What to do
Send a payment reminder email to your winning bidder. You can customize the email before sending it.

When to do it
Sending a payment reminder email is optional. It may be sent after 3 days but not past 30 days after your listing closes.

I bet you got the automated eBay notification that you won, and he probably sent you his own email. It couldn't be a payment reminder though...

Ebay doesn't itself, but Paypal certainly does have an automated invoice.

And ebay's payment reminder is only allowed to be sent 3 days after the first payment request is sent.

And why is he a dumb arse? I think what has happened is Paypal sent the automated invoice...you can set up your Paypal account to do just that........then he hits the "send invoice" button on his selling page. So, I guess doing what he is supposed to makes him a dumb arse, then. Actually, it's more of a double-check system.....and Paypal has been a tad lagging in sending out email notices lately, so I don't blame him for doing it manually and not completely depending on the automated Paypal system.

Or, ebay send out an automated "You won the auction" notice, which it does, and then he followed up with the manual invoice system as described previously. Either way, he's just backing up the automated stuff, which isn't a bad idea.

I usually prefer to wait until I receive an invoice before paying. Sometimes they have special/different instructions in the invoice which aren't mentioned in the auction. However if I don't receive an invoice within 24 hours and they accept Paypal, I just login to Paypal, click eBay auctions won and pay it.
