If I wanna buy a women's size shoe, is it 2 sizes bigger? So if I wear a men's 10, then would I need to get a 12? Is that how it works?

roughly, but while your considering x-dressing, keep in mind, women's shoes vary in size by make and model.

One size 8 womans shoe might run small (ie fit a 7 woman). Some womens are narrow, some are normal, and some run wide.

My gf drags me to many shoe stores :( I learn this crap from her.

Men's shoes are a little more consistent in sizing.

OKAY - Let me clear something up first before you guys jump to any more conclusions.. I am looking at NIKE AIR MAX's ... a place is out of stock of the men's of a discontinued set, so I am trying to figure out which size for women's would fit..

Any help anyone??

Dude don't buy women's Nike Air Max's, I'm sure another shoe store or a nearby NikeTown would have what you're looking for.

why don't you go and try them on?? "May i try on the womans nike air max??"

I understand, i wouldn't go into a store and try on womens shoes, i guess that makes me homophobic.

This is something that has always confused and bothered me about cloth size. They should be consistent. If I buy a size 34 pants, then it should always fit me the same. I hate when I buy one size 34 and it fits nice and another size 34 would be too tight.

Same with shoes. Some shoes I've bought a size 9+1/2 fits nicely. For other types of shoes, I need to buy a size 10.

And they should make women's and men's cloth with a consistent sizing standard. Why use two different sizing standards?

According to the footwear size chart in Sear's catalogue, a men's size 10 is 10-11/16" in length and in women's that would be size 11-1/2 (10-11/16"). Medium width (d,e) in men's for size 10 is 3-7/8" and medium width (b) for women's size 11-1/2 is 3-15/16". You do realize that men's and women's styles are different.:)

The styles for Air Max are all similiar anyway.. just colors are different - so the style looks okay.. just need the right sizes - that's all!
