supposing that a woman wears a size 13 long pair of jeans. that is, most sizes 11-13 fit but more often than not, size 13 long appears to be the most comfortable and acceptable fit for a woman around what size would that make the waist of said pants in inches?

(i understand long probably simply refers to the legnth of the leg of the pants, but i figured any relevant info might help)

thanks!

You didn't say pics of what.

I don't know what sizes corrospond to inches. Girls' pants are stupid - sizes aren't reliable from brand to brand. I know I'm roughly an 8 - could be 6 or 10 depending on the brand. Used to wear 12 and about 32" waist jeans. You'd probably need a 32" waist and 32" or longer inseam.

if you are buying pants as a gift make sure they have a good return policy is all i have to say.

also, keep in mind that she might not be buying the 13 necessarily for the waist size but the hip size, bum size and thigh size and stuff.

its really tough to go between the two sizing.

your best bet is to get her to try stuff on.

its her hips, i know that. im actually trying to fashion a belt for her as a surprise.
the reason pants shopping is sort of a pain for her now is the recent low-rise trend it pants which, when her hips are larger than the waist, makes basically all jeans low rise and so anything that attempts to be low-rise on her tends to expose a bit more than she is comfortable with.

Get her something and save the reciept so she can exchange the size. Err on the small side. :)

I wear 4's and 6's and my inseam length needs to be a 33-34 if I intend to wear any sort of shoe with a modest heel. The best thing to do is get her a gift card to her favorite store.

My only advice is if you're going to buy something, I would say go a size lower than you think. That way they're like ooohhh, he thinks I'm smaller than I am am not, he got me huge pants, he thinks I'm fat

im not buying pants for her! if i were, it would be 10x easier. i have her size or i could just ask any staff working there. im attempting to make something for her. im not really expecting her to wear it but im sure it will come in handy every so often....it was just a question to help me make it. advice has been helpful, thanks!

Actually I've heard you can buy a "one-size-fits-all" strap-on

 ok that was wrong :p
