Little background. I'm a young guy and i've been working the past couple months straight out of college. I commute to NY every day (2 hours each way door to door) and for the past month and a half i've been pulling 60-70 hour weeks. I even got on my company's top five utilization list for the past couple weeks running. It actually makes me sad :(

So I come home the other day at about 10:30PM after a fun short 10 hour work day, tired and hungry as hell. Step into my house (I still live with parents) and my mom asks me to take my brother on a trip, fix the toilet, fix our phone (vonage) and my sister asks me to fix her laptop. This is within 15 seconds of stepping into the house. I just stared at them, went to my room and shut the damn door. My mom comes in and asks me what my problem is. I flip and tell her that I just freaking came home and I'm hungry as hell and I'm tired as hell and I just want an hour to myself before people bitch at me.

Damn women nag way too much. JUST GIVE ME 10 FREAKING MINUTES TO RELAX WHEN I'M AT HOME. Good thing i'm moving out soon :)

No 10 minute drive to train station. 1 1/2 hour train ride to NY and 15 minute walk to work. Double that and I believe that's about 4 hours. Worse part is it costs me 300+ a month

It's salary. But I do get a weird form of overtime. Def. gettin compensated for a couple months worth of work. I'm just saving up a little so that I won't be tapped out when I do get an apt.

No, his point was more along the lines of (as stated in the rest of his post), that he's been working all day and doesn't want to be bombarded with requests by someone whining about things that don't work or need to be done.

Want to whine at me to get stuff done? Fine. However, please wait until I've had a chance to unwind from work instead of running down the list of crap before I have a chance to get my keys out of the door lock.

yeah my mom learned that i'd rather her just leave me a note with what needs to be done and let me get to it at my own pace.

You should be imprisoned for life for not immediately and unconditionally surrendering to my opinion. :p

Ask me for anything you want all you want, just not as I'm walking through the door. Gimme a few minutes to prepare a good "go screw yourself" reply :p

Yes, yes they do. It's the reason I pretty much try to avoid my parents now. My dad is so whipped from his girlfriend it's not even funny.

Thankfully they seem to finally be grasping the fact that I don't like playing twenty questions about my day as soon as I walk in the door. And that I hate playing it twice, so they'll wait until they're both there. It's still an annoyance.

lol

heh heh, got me a good laugh too. But yeah, I def DID everything she asked me to. But I just flipped when she didn't understand WHY I was kinda pissed in the first place. I mean seriously, if there are any women here who work crazy overtime, wouldn't you be pissed if your family or SO nagged you the second you stepped into the door after a 12 hour day?!?
