Whenever I see a woman in a 911(especially a new 2007 911 turbo) I just assume that her husband/partner is letting her borrow the car. I really don't believe that many women would purchase the car.

I think this not really because I believe that they're incapable of doing so (even though the thought did cross my mind several times :)) but because most women wouldn't choose to buy a 911.

anyone else agree?

I agree. It's one of those power-trip cars that doesn't *generally* appeal to chicks.

Well, one good way to tell if this is true or not would be, is it a stick or an automatic?

There are plenty of other cars women prefer before hitting the 90k+ mark of a 911.

MB SL500 = 70k

oh no these are generally quite attractive, younger women. I live in paradise valley, AZ so I see quite a few of them in their partner's expensive cars :p.

Per my observation, I just figure that they can't get the car themselves :)

Yea i agree, it irritates me personally, when they're driving at about 20mph and really look like its a struggle to drive the car (steering wheel upto chest, barely seeing over it, hands gripped TIGHT! at 10 and 2 positions! lol

I once saw a woman in a M3 CSL taking her kid to school... Just annoys me the way they think its really trendy with their bug eye sunglasses etc.. :disgust:

I really think it depends on the individual and not women in general. I'm sure there are women who would buy a 911.

well this is borderline flamebait so don't take it too seriously, but how many women actually could buy a 911 :p

That's my dream car.

But my sister used to go to a private school and I would pick my sister up in a Honda driving past Range Rovers, a G Class, Masaraeti's, and anything in between. All the people driving those cars were mom's who were picking up one kid. It made me sad.

Yea makes me sad too! The cars should be given to people that will actually put the cars to use, not just use it as a status symbol... I think its such a big waste!

By the way welcome!

Huh?

Edit: Personally i HATE the look of the 996 Porsches compared to the 997's. I think the headlights are SO ugly and ruin the whole car! Especially on the boxter...

They're not given, they're bought. If they can buy it, I'm a little jealous but its not like they're taking my car to the grocery store or pick up little johnny.

I think Fmr12B means she rolls in a Honda PIlot when it rains.

Honda Pilot I presume.

By the way Boxsters have been popular among female crowds actually probably because of its size and price.

The 911 was my dream car, my IT director had one, the Carrera 4. Then... Our shipping manager (Tom) drove a convertible Vette. Tom went on vacation for 2 months to Thailand and came home as Tracy. Tom was an unattractive man, Tracy is an exceptionally unattractive woman. Tracy sold the Vette and bought a 911. My IT Director sold his 911 and bought a BMW M6. I don't have a dream car anymore, except maybe an AM DB9.
