Women charged with throwing 4 puppies, killing 2

BRADENTON, FLA. — Authorities say a southwest Florida woman threw four young puppies against a wall, killing two of them.

The Manatee County Sheriff's Office reports that 19-year-old Shaniqua Louise Porter was arrested Saturday and charged with two felony counts of torturing an animal with intent to kill and two misdemeanor counts of cruelty to animals.

Porter's roommate and another witness told deputies that Porter came home in a rage over the weekend and threw the small dogs at the wall.

Jail records show Porter was released Sunday on $2,240 bail. Records didn't show if she had an attorney.

A telephone listing could not be found for Porter.

Terrible what some people will do. 🙁 How could you even harm a puppy? I'm not even a dog person, but I could not even think about harming one. It takes somebody really crazy to feel ok doing it.

Are you serious? There is a HUGE difference between a quick, painless death and torturing animals. HUGE.

Believe it or not, once you hurt your first puppy, even if by complete accident, the mind becomes readily desensitized to their cries.

Of course not. It's all about intent. She maliciously killed innocent animals for no reason - a big sign of someone with serious mental issues. Puppies are animals we value as pets. If you don't want them, you drop them off at one of the MANY shelters that will either place them or kill them ethically.
