Holy shit! They should have just shot her, honestly. Who tackles someone with a knife?

OK, I'm not a cool ATOT hip gangster who knows everything about police strategy and understand that the heat of the moment complicates things even more. I just think that tackling someone with a knife would be the last thing I'd personally do.

Kinda looked like she might go for the cop in front of her, cop behind her tackled her. Maybe could have been handled better but hindsight is 20/20, I am not going to hate on a cop for making a split-second decision like that.

"ya, we found her, shes got a knife in her gut" lol. wonder if they would have copped to it if that camera wasnt there. i know they did what they thought was right, but dayum thats some bad luck there for her. she was psychotic tho, could have been much worse if she had gotten ahold of anyone at that scene. and ya, good tackle.

Before watching the video, I thought that the cop had tackled her from the front. The bravery was still there, but tackling her from the back was definitely not the same thing.

Actually, she would have been better off and there would be less risk for the cop.

I'm not too pleased about all the taser happy (read lazy) cops, but this is exactly where it should be used.

I agree, this was the PERFECT situation for tasing, this is exactly what a taser is designed for, to disarm a person without causing any long term harm. I feel really horrible watching this, I'm sure a bunch of the "internet badass" ATOT people will act its great she was horribly injured or killed, but the fact of the matter is that this is a huge tragedy. I have seen otherwise good people (IE: both my own mother and the next door neighbor) distressed to exactly this point over simple marital arguments that got out of hand due to mental instabilities in the women affected (obviously not just women can be emotionally unstable, but in this clip and the instances in real life it was a middle aged woman). I mean honestly when I see that I see my own mother 100%, that woman looks very similar, sounds very similar to how she sounds when she is in a manic state, and several times my mother had threatened people (including the cops btw) with a knife. It is because of mental illness that people act this way, and they need to be talked down, not tackled from behind. I'm not gonna blame the officer here, clearly he was merely trying to diffuse the situation, not kill a woman, but I just REALLY REALLY hope people don't think that some woman with mental issues deserves death, don't delude yourselves, this could EASILY be a friend, or parent, or even yourself on a really bad day.
