I understand it fine, but you apparently do not.

Tell me, has Trump been president for the past 4 years?

we arent talking about that. We are talking about this:

Rodriguez’s attack comes after the Department of Justice released its recent hate crime statistics, reported by KCRA. The 2017 California report, which was the first published since President Trump took office, evinced an uptick of more than 17 percent, with anti-Hispanic and anti-Latino crimes soaring over 50 percent last year, according to the Sacramento Bee.

Do you see? An uptick of 17 percent since trump took office with anti-hispanic up over 50%

I asked you if you thought the 50% increase was because of trump. You said no. Then you listed reasons that are too general to account for this increase in a short period of time. And now you are showing more overall trends but lets focus on this one. Do you think trump is responsible for the 50% increase?

Though some posters here have tried to convince us just how much support Trump has in the latino and Black communities, I doubt this gal dons the MAGA hat... She doesn't have to. Many people have hatred for people they perceive don't belong in our country and have been emboldened...

Everyone should read his post to see what is wrong with the Left here. I just provided that there was been an increasing trend in hate crime before trump, and that growth has been continuing after Trump. This idiot here is now ignoring data before that establishes the trend, because he wants to focus on Trump. This is how we let politics take over reason. He also asks me if I think some of that increase is due to Trump and I say yes, but not all, and he cannot understand that because politics. Take back the Left from idiots like this, or become like the Right.

So I think truumps hate speech is having an affect. Do you think so?
Not necessarily. This incident happened in South Central LA, a community for which African-Americans have been losing their historic foothold due to a combination of gentrification and Hispanic migrations.

Well prior to Trump, there was already a deep resentment and increases in gang violence due to rapidly shifting neighborhood demographic boundaries.

Trump is tapping into this resentment in an irresponsible way, but IMO, these tensions were going to inevitably boil over.

While I think that the US Government allows for too much legal immigration, my main concern is rather or not the said immigrate(s) in question is here legally.

The Starbuck1975 reply is accurate. I used to own a lot in Willowbrook. It's a very poor area next to Watts. The chances of any of the dumb things Trump has ever said having anything to do with this are infinitesimal.

Well I guess that lady doesn't have to worry cause Trump is gonna cover her legal fees.

What you linked to has sound bites of Trump saying to beat people up, treat them harshly, give them a beating, but it as far as I can tell doesn't show who he's talking about and it certainly does show him saying beat up illegals and tell them to go back to their country which is what this argument is about, no?

To infer that a crazy woman walking down the street hitting a poor old guy with a brick was done so because Trump was on her shoulder is silly. She's insane. Normal people don't act that way.

This is like going back to the 80s saying that kids killed their parents because the devil was in the lyrics of the heavy metal music they were listening to.

But some law enforcement officials say the numbers may be on the rise because more people are reporting incidents.

“We’re out there encouraging people to report crimes they normally wouldn’t be willing to report,” said Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department Det. Christopher Keeling, a hate crimes investigator. “The vast majority of what we’re seeing is vandalism, like a swastika here or there, or people making a blanket statement about hating a certain group of people, but we can’t directly link that to the election. If there is nothing saying this is related to the election, how can you attribute it to that?”

Here are the actual CA crime reports for 2015, 2016 and 2017.

It’s plain for all to see in this thread. You have offered nothing to substantiate your claim that trump isn’t fully responsible for the 50% gain in anti Hispanic hate crimes since he became president.

I said that Trump spreads hate from the bully pulpit.

You said "nuh-uhh! He's just enforcing the law!"

I linked to but a small portion of the hate he spreads.

You obfuscate saying we can't tell who he's talking about.

It doesn't matter who he's talking about because he's still spreading hatred & it's obviously not towards the very fine people, is it?

New sock puppet checks in...

I've written thousands of posts at my site (which I'm sure you can figure out) since 2002 and I've tweeted tens of thousands of tweets at my eponymous handle, not to mention tens of thousands of disqus comments at the same handle.

I suggest doing the slightest bit of research before launching into smears.

Is Trump responsible for the economy doing well?

The question is too broad. You see I asked you a specific and you refused to answer because the answer is uncomfortable for you.
