I don't think any of those people did it to gain a ton of presses.

I agree that they didn't, but I wasn't trying to suggest that they did. The fact is that regardless of what the people in those two situations were going for, that's what they ended up receiving.

I really doubt that someone would attempt to gain Internet notoriety/infamy like that, but it's a plausible theory. :p

EDIT:

I think my last sentence is deserving of that weird-hair-guy-on-The-History-Channel meme.

yea more complicated than the title led on, she does smack him weakly but yea he hits her way harder. still this isn't the kind of domestic violence i was expecting, she had a camera on and might have been instigating him in a f**k you over split up.

The fact remains that she had reason to believe that it was possible to provoke him into hitting her. To me, that indicates a history.

Wow. Not one poster claiming they knew the race of the people involved before they even saw the video. :hmm:

or that indicates she might be taking his house, his children and half his paycheck and knows how to push his buttons. i'm sure we are better people but it doesn't mean she possibly was goading him into this.

I'll be straight up honest, if I was out in public and seen something like this, I am fighting, period.

I don't get it. Seems staged. He immediately went for the camera. Soooo. Whatever.

I admit that stuck in my mind to. But then I wonder WTF is the point of the video then?

What was the point of that guy posting a fake receipt with "Get a real job" written on it?

People do all kinds of weird crap just for attention.
Though I love seeing the irony of people saying be a real man and he should walk away, yet they froth at the mouth saying they'd like to hunt him down and beat him up.

And you are going to jail, and possibly getting ganged up on.
If you want to do the right thing, call the police and be a witness. Many, many times, a dude can be wailing on his woman, someone wants to be a knight in shining armor steps in and both of them turn on the 3rd party.
You might be an internet tough guy, but in the real world, you don't know who you are dealing with and you don't know the facts.

Happened to me. Saw a guy who had obviously drunk quite a bit that night out in town verbally abusing his GF/wife while I was out with a bunch of friends. We stopped across the road to make sure it wasn't going to turn nasty and this guy started hitting her. I put the guy on his ass and his GF/wife starts screaming at me to leave him alone and threatens to call the police on me!

I find it so upsetting that some people are willing to take this kind of abuse whether it is physical or verbal. I don't know if they think it is actually there fault or if they just get so used to the abuse they think it is normal.

I can't even imagine how damaging it is for a child watching one of their parents treating the other this way.

100% the reason why i stay out of domestics. you did the right thing but you could have gone to jail or worse she could have stabbed you.

if kids are involved that's a whole other ballgame, but if its a man and woman I mind my own business.

I don't feel like watching the vid. I will say that some people are just plain stupid. I'm not surprised she responded that way, I guess she's just too stupid to know any better.

I don't think it's fake/staged at all.

Looks like he had the video recording without her knowledge in case things turned violent [which they did]. She knew what buttons to push to make him get angry and upset. She slapped him [which was wrong] and he punched her in retaliation [which was wrong too].

I'm more intrigued to wonder who uploaded the video...

The thing is, a lot of women like those "bad boys". I am pretty sure we have seen women that are attracted to guys that are eager to fight.

The women are not so attracted after the guy breaks her nose.

Its easy to call the guy a scumbag for hitting the woman, but its also easy to call her stupid for staying in a violent relationship.
