I know he's young, but what I would tell every aspiring NFL star is to stay the hell out of bars.

Most issues are started with people who are wasted. It doesn't even have to be young people. I've seen older men and women act stupid once they start consuming alcohol.

Seems pretty open and shut to me. The law doesn't distinguish between the genders. You throw a punch at someone then you are committing assault.

Both should be charged. Don't know how anyone could see it any differently.

I don't really consider her actions to be all that aggressive. She already had her arms above the bar, it looks like more of a trying to preserve her personal space kind of move vs an aggressive move. Regardless, aside from the initial jostling for bar position he initiates the physical aspect of the confrontation by grabbing her wrist.

At that point she's justified in trying to break free (including her attempt at a punch), and he's entirely unjustified in his response.

This is not about her being a woman I'd read the video the same if it were another guy. Yes women should expect to get hit if they attack someone, but she didn't attack anyone. He did.

If there's another angle of video we haven't seen yet I might change my mind, it's unfortunate his right arm/her left + the majority of their bodies are out of frame.

That is some pure gold right there. I'm saving that to my "I'm having a shitty day and need a good laugh" folder.

but she didn't attack anyone.

Are you blind?

Edit: This is the only reasonable explanation for your post:

None of you brought up the real crime here, a guy in overalls with no shirt on.

This guy is a real winner. Pops her and just like a coward immediately runs away.

question

what happened to that dude who punched one of the Jersey shore women in the face at a bar a bunch of years ago.

it was much less provoked.

if he didn't do time this dude should not

Assuming first offense this (IMO) doesn't warrant jail. I'd be fine with him getting this:

(from here: http://nypost.com/2011/03/06/dejected-former-teacher-who-punched-snooki-joins-army/)

He pleaded guilty to one charge of simple assault, paid a $500 fine and served six months’ probation.

I'm not suggesting he has committed some major crime, merely that he was (more) in the wrong than she was and charges seem appropriate based upon the video we have seen so far.

I actually thought he was trying to take the space of the dark haired woman who seemed to be leaving the bar. He has bumped into blonde haired woman while doing so and she gets angry at him for some reason.

Just the way I saw it. *shrug*

similar to how I saw it, he wanted that now vacated space she either didn't want him there and got in his way or it was a simple bump,
they prob mouthed off to each other
she gets pissed and takes a stance of dominance
he grabs her like WTF calm down
she hits him
he hits back

FWIW There are reports from his lawyer that she kicked him in the groin before her punch and one report says that she admitted to kneeing him in the groin.

Get out of here with that crap. We still want to argue if it's ok to hit a woman or a 3 y.o.

To further examine this... the first crime is him grabbing her arm, yes? That's assault.

From there he is the criminal aggressor and her the victim, innocent or not. The law affords her the right to retaliate in self defense, while affording him no rights. You touch someone you lose your "right" to claim self defense and punch them back.

Ergo, what she did is 100% legal. What he did is 100% illegal.
