Magneto did this to him in X1 (but didn't rip it out) but in the comics Magneto actually ripped his skeleton out of his body.

Edit: My first idea was wrong - hazy memory, sorry.
Taken from: here
At some point in the 1990s the adamantium in Wolverine's skeleton was forcibly removed by the supervillain Magneto, who had retaliated in response to Wolverine's attempt to kill him. Following this, Genesis kidnapped Wolverine and attempted to re-bond the metal to his skeleton. This was unsuccessful and caused Wolverine's mutation to accelerate out of control. He was temporarily changed into a semi-sentient beast-like form. In this form Wolverine was physically more powerful than he had ever been before, and far less stable, killing Genesis in the process. Finally, the villain Apocalypse kidnapped Wolverine, brainwashed him, and had the adamantium rebonded to his skeleton successfully. Wolverine overcame Apocalypse's brainwashing and returned to the X-Men.

Edit: More about Wolverine:
Over the years, this has increased in potency to the point where he can regenerate organs such as eyes, but he cannot regenerate limbs which have been completely severed.

I vote that Wolvie would win, basically because he's invincible. Over the years, Wolverine - who is NO martial artist for sure - has learned some decent fighting techniques. He'd be able to keep the Batarang away from him with his claws. Batman is stronger, for sure, but not by so much that he'd just rokc Wolverine's world. Batman DOES NOT use guns, he only uses martial arts, and you can't beat on a guy like Wolverine enough to really wear him down. Wolverine would outlast Batman eventually and beat him. I think it's a VERY close battle, but Wolverine probably wins in the end.

That being said, Batman's cooler. I like Wolverine, but Batman's psycho, and I love that. He has serious issues. SERIOUS! He's like a criminal mastermind that only does good deeds. He's fvcked in the head. I just love that. Some comic book magazine did a superhero vs. superhero comic one time, and my favorite part was Batman vs. Wonder Woman. They were like, "Yeah, so she whips him, and they battle wills: she's fighting him because she was told to by some Amazonians... Batman fights because his parents were gunned down before his eyes and he's trying to fill a GIGANTIC emptiness within himself. Batman wins that one."

Wolverine is more of an unskilled brawler, so Batman could conceiveably take him briefly at close range if he were forced. If they were fighting in a city, not an arena, Batman would probably be able to get Wolverine to fall off a building. Wolvie jumps out of a window, assuming that he's lower than he actually is, and goes splat in an early issue of the Jim Lee X-Men. He's incapacitated for a few hours and is protected by Maverick while he recuperates.

On the other hand, Wolverine would win the war because he, like practically all the X-Men, is immortal. :) Though Batman could give him some Legacy Virus ...

This is a no-brainer. They've already solved this one for us. Since Superman > Wolverine (fairly obvious) and Batman > Superman (he's beaten him before) ..... use the transitive property.
