AMSTERDAM (Hollywood Reporter) - Hugh Jackman's Wolverine will headline a spinoff of 20th Century Fox's "X-Men" franchise.

At international industry conference Cine Expo, the studio promised the gathered exhibitors a Jackman starrer titled "Wolverine" for next year. Jackman himself sent the conventioneers a taped promise to back up the news.

edit: my initial thought is that a movie made so quickly will likely be a stinker.

Agreed. A darker movie with solid character development would be awesome. I just hope it doesn't turn into your typical craptastic stand alone comic book hero film - RE: Daredevil, Elektra, The Green Lantern, ect.

LOL. I thought I had lost a couple of years of my life or something for a second.

Don't forget Alec Baldwin in The Shadow.

yeap. i would love to see more of his backstory. considering he was born like 1890 and faught in a few wars there should be some good story's. Also as weapon X (with sabertooth!) it could be fun

i just really really hope it does not suck.
