Wolverine movie poll. Did you like it?

***Possible spoilers in thread***

I'm trying to get an understanding for all the hate of the Wolverine movie so heres a poll to maybe help me understand.

Just saw it yesterday - just as a movie, I felt it was pretty poorly directed and put together. And on top of that, they took so many liberties with the Marvel universe, it got really annoying.

So I take it you've read the comics then?

What was this supposed Deadpool ending? They showed one ending after the credits and I saw that (Stryker got picked up), but I didn't stay longer than that (normally there's never more than one). If you want to see a bunch of Mutants kick ass, the movie is fun 😛. Well, mostly the first 20 minutes.

Were the action scenes decent? Sure. Was the plot/acting/dialogue any good? No. Seriously, cringe inducingly no. How many times does wolvie look the sky and scream in rage in this movie? I dunno, 3, 4?? After a while it becomes camp. See Vader.

It just showed his hand crawling and finding the head and it opening his eyes and ending then.

Saw the pre-release version, it was amazingly awesome for the first 20-30 minutes, then went horribly wrong thereafter.

I felt underwhelmed by this movie. I went in thinking, "Oh man I am as excited as when I saw the first X-Men!" I left remembering how much I didnt care for the 2nd or 3rd X-Men movies :-\

I really enjoyed the Deadpool character for the 10 or so minutes Ryan Reynolds was on-screen it seemed. I wish they had done more with him and his character.

Saw it this weekend. It wasn't bad. We didn't leave the theater going wow that was the best movie ever but we got our moneys worth I'd say.

I enjoyed the movie. I never really read too many comics so I dunno if not having the comic book background may alter my opinion of it. Anyhow, I think it was done relatively well with the exception that sometimes the CGI was just out-right terrible (e.g. farmhouse bathroom scene when he is examining his new claws).

Yeah, what was up with how bad of a job they did with that?

Strange.

Otherwise though I enjoyed the movie for what it was, a mindless popcorn flick.

I thought the best part of the movie by FAR, was the completely badass opening credits montage with him and Sabertooth fighting in the various wars. I was so pumped for the rest of the movie after that. But sadly, it ended up being fairly mediocre. I still enjoyed the experience though, if that makes sense. I mean shit, it's Wolverine.

I thought it was OK. I saw both pre-production and theater versions.

And yeah, some of the CGI was pretty crappy... but I guess that's what happens when there's a fuckton of different studios doing the effects.

There were two 'secret' endings. The Stryker one right after the credits begin, and then another after the credits are over (like 5+ min. later).

What was odd for me is how they seemingly had two Deadpools... one being the actual Deadpool (the one you saw in the beginning played by Van Wilder) and they referred to Weapon XI as Deadpool as well and Wolverine even said, "He finally shut you up, eh?" (he's Canadian, ya know!) But from what I've read (even about the movie), that wasn't actually supposed to be the same Deadpool and the name was just supposed to refer to all the abilities that he has?

there was something after the credits? noooo i didnt stay

yeah it did annoy me. but i understand why they did it. they had to compress the history of wolverine and sabertooth into something that made sense. not to mention how/why logan couldnt remember his past. though how they did it was just silly.

not to mention where was mavrick? and the blob was not part of the team! and i hated how they had deadpool. WTF that was NOT deadpool! ugh

but i did enjoy the movie and plan on getting it hwen it comes out on blu-ray

I skipped the leak and saw it in the theater, my location had the Japanese Bar ending. I approved of the movie in general.

It's a little tricky, but they never actually refer to Wade or Weapon XI as "Deadpool." Stryker says "... the pool. The dead pool." I saw it more as them setting up the creation of the name rather than using the name.

Good to know that shooting someone in the head at close range guarantees amnesia.

I don't know if this has happened before but the videogame is much higher rated than the movie it's based on.

It was an entertaining popcorn flick with some decent action bits, a stupid plot, a complete destruction of the Marvel universe, and some cheesy acting. Oh, and even for a film about mutants with superpowers, some shit just shouldn't happen... like, say, a motorcycle taking several direct hits from a .50 caliber machine gun and not showing any visible damage. I'm not expecting realism from a film where people can teleport or spontaneously heal and live forever, but come on, that's just fucking absurd. My willing suspension of disbelief was severely tested. I still enjoyed the movie more than X-Men 3, but I think my expectations were a lot lower (having been thoroughly disappointed by X-Men 3).
