Confirmation... Jackman toplining WOLVERINE movie post X3!!

Ahoy, squirts! Quint here with another bit of confirmation from Variety, this time it's that Hugh Jackman and partner John Palermo's production company (SEED) has worked out a first look deal with 20th Century Fox for the David Benioff-scripted WOLVERINE spin-off movie, to be developed after X3.

Now a first look deal isn't a greenlight guaranteed movie, but since Jackman has a producing interest and will certainly be starring, I'm sure it won't be much of a struggle for Fox to decide to go forward with the film. That is, of course, if Ratner doesn't totally f*ck up the character and series with X3. I, personally, think this would be a great opportunity for Jackman to get some really talented filmmaker to take Wolvie to places we haven't seen yet. Who's your ideal director? What about favorite solo Wolverine story-line?

I remember reading that Brian Singer wasn't going to be doing X3, is that still the case?

I think this will be an awesome movie. Why all the thumbs down? Wolverine is a badass, and the movie series has been great so far. Probably my favorite of all the comic based movies.

I think they should do some background storyline. for example, starting the movie with him waking up in the bio-engineering facility, breaking free of his constraints, and going wild because he doesn't know where he is, who he is, remember his past or anything, and has these new fangled things shooting out of his hands. Kinda like letting us watch how he's evolved since he woke up after being "made" into wolverine. Maybe the movie could end with him finally tiring down after struggling to find his identity, settling in a little town in the middle of nowhere, looking for work. The last scene of the movie could be of him walking into the bar with the fighting cage in the center and the bar manager whispering to him something like "ready, rookie?" :D

Wolverine has plenty of his own stories to tell. He's like 250 years old and spent a lot of time in Canada and was a samuri for awhile before he did weapon X or whatever.

You guys are out of your minds. Wolverine and Professor X are the only X-Men in the movie who aren't complete fags.

The Adventures of Wolverome and Professor X, I can see it now.

I would like to see the "Wolverine Limited Series" as a movie. Claws, Swords, and Wolverine as a Berserker.
