ive got a belkin wireless usb adaptor on an xo pro machine - can i WOL this from my main wired xp pro machine?

Nope unfortunately, you cannot.

WOL entails a computer that is Off.

When Using a Wired Network Card (NIC) that is WOL capable with a motherboard that is WOL capable too, the NIC and the Mobo are provided with electricity to the WOL circuits even when the computer is Off (but plugged in to the electrical outlet).

Wireless need the computer to be On, when the computer is Off there is No Wireless so it cannot receive the Magic Packet.
