WOL Wake on Lan Win 2000 HELP!!!!!

Degenerate

Platinum Member
I have a dual boot of win 98 and win2000
with network card Dlink 530tx
when i shutdown using win98 the network card is still on and allows wake on lan by using this
diagnostic software on the other computers network card (i know its on cause on the hub the lights
are still on)

when i shutdown with win2000
the network card is off and i can't use WOL

how do i get win2000 to leave it on still
motherboard is p3v4x

are there any good WOL software where i can send the packets where i don't have to
retype the mac address every time?
its a VIA chipset so intel LDCM won't work

the problem simply is that win98 does'nt turn off the network card after it shuts down
win 2k turns it off after shutdown
by shutdown i mean selecting shutdown --> shutdown from start menu
(where the system is in standby)

thanks

Search for "magic packet" to find software, cgi scripts, etc. to use WOL features. An explanation of it is here.
