Runs up my leg a bit too. Can barely fit my foot in a shoe.

Went to the doctor and he sent me to the ER to get an ultrasound of my leg to see if I had a blood clot. Nope. Now I have to make an apt to see a vascular surgeon. Fun, fun, fun.

Anyone else ever have this?

Nope, Nope. I'm fine otherwise and have blood tests on a regular basis. They did a blood test at the hospital (of course) to check and see if I had an infection, which I don't.

We'll see...

My feet get swollen and sore sometimes in the winter. I don't know what causes it. It goes away in a day or 2.

I had this for several months (left foot too) and had an ultrasound to check blood flow. Doctors never found the reason why as everything checked normal except for anemia. When I started losing weight (went from 202 to 175), it disappeared.

You did the right thing going to the doctor. Worst case scenario can be pretty bad. Hope you have insurance to cover most of it.

Probably gout. Do you smoke? Probably vascular if so.
Nope. Don't smoke, don't drink. Relatively healthy except have high blood pressure and take meds for that. Could be a side effect from the meds, although I've been taking them for 5yrs now with no ill effect. See what the doctor says.

Unusual for medicine side effects to affect only 1 foot. Is it red? painful? where is it swollen exactly? Pulses?

Get an ultrasound for a swollen foot is low yield. When we image for blood clots, we go down to the calf. If you have clots in the foot, we won't see them unless they extend more proximally. But your doc is just being cautious.

It'll be interesting to see the final diagnosis.

Height and weight then.

Gout would be the first guess. Need to know how overweight you are to continue. If you're overweight then you may have just tweaked your ankle.
