Woke up to Black Screen - What to try with Video card before calling in for warranty?

I woke up this morning and sat down at my computer, with no response. I knew it was running because my G510 keyboard had active information on the display. I tried a reboot, no luck. I hooked up the motherboard DVI output, and booted it up to see that Windows does not report the video card (only the Intel HD Graphics) in Device Manager.

I've owned this video card (Gigabyte GTX 770 4GB) for < 3 months now, purchased from Newegg. It's been a while since i've had to send any computer parts back for warranty (the last one I can remember was an 8GB 10,000 RPM SCSI Drive to IBM 10+ years ago), so I'm not familiar with what they're going to want me to try before I can send it back for warranty.

I'm thinking I could re-seat the card, check the power connectors, and maybe even try to boot it in a different system (although the other PC I have, I don't think has a good enough power supply for that). Any other suggestions, so that I'm prepared when I call?

Depends so much on the manufacturer, it is hard to say for sure, but what you have listed is what I would suggest.

Were you using the same cable when testing both connections?

Yes, I normally have 3 monitors hooked up to this video card, and they were all black. I just swapped a cable from one of those connectors to the built-in DVI connector to the motherboard.
