I do find it amusing that none of the really high $ areas burned to the ground.

maybe because the fire department focus on that area more heavily??

I would never say that, but it is odd that the vast majority of structures burned were of ....................lower quality.

Hmmmm

a fire broke out in Malibu (read: very expensive houses), within an hour or two it was contained..
Also the fire department in my house is always ready to roll, I guess they can go to help combat the fire in simi valley, but they choose to watch over my area instead (read: expensive houses also...)

Yeah woohoo, rain. :|

Got drenched at work first thing this morning....I've got open trenches all over my property that I haven't had time to backfill.....picked up about 5lbs of mud on each shoe tonight walking around to take a look. :|

But it is good for the firefighters, I guess....

Oh?

Across Southern California, the wildfires have destroyed million-dollar estates and vacation homes. But the flames have also devoured shacks, cabins and trailers. Many of those who lost everything did not have much to begin with

From an AP story at The Guardian

Scripps Ranch is an area of very nice homes according to a friend of mine who lives in Oceanside. He said multi-million dollar homes were being burnt to the ground.
