Woah...sweet feature of Windows XP SP2

So I was over at my uncle's house for thanksgiving today, and he wanted to know how to send more than one picture at a time to someone. So I had him show me how he sends pictures now. Turns out that XP SP2 added an "E-mail picture" task.

Whenever you select a JPG in Explorer the E-mail picture task appears. What makes it sweet is that it automatically resizes the picture to one of three sizes for you and then attaches it to a new, blank e-mail. It's ridiculously easy.

The only gotcha is what e-mail clients it works with. So far I've tested it successfully with AOL and hotmail. Doesn't seem to work with GMail as it takes the e-mail client out of the default client selected in IE's settings, and the G-mail notifier doesn't appear there.

Anyone know of other e-mail clients this works with?

Uh, for most computer n00bs who have no idea on how to send pictures via E-mail - or even resize them for that matter, this is a big deal.

That's true. I do remember the thread where people mentioned your daughter.

I'm pretty sure I've got that option on a machine that I haven't upgraded to SP2 yet. I'll have to check tomorrow.

Joe,

You are correct - this feature does exist in Windows XP SP1 as I just tried it. However, it just gives you two options:

1) Keep the image the same size, or
2) Reduce the size of the image.

From the sounds of it, SP2 allows you a few more choices in regards to making the image smaller - by allowing you to select one of the smaller resolutions.
