Not really flipping out, mostly just messin with ya, but still dont hate it when people are like "awh hell no, i aint going over there to die". It gets old.

But its bedtime now, adios :D (its almost 1am here)

Maybe he changed after he joined the military and stopped being such an A-hole. It would be a much more generous thought, and it might possibly be true. Sorry to hear about his death.
