Woah, ipad 2 screen glass is strong......

Why do they always seem to put incredibly lame, annoying, loud music on those kinds of videos?

Furthermore, wtf is that point of that test?

The rest of the ipad won't come anywhere close to flexing that much. I mean, it's interesting that there's that much flex, but it doesn't really tell us anything except that when bending your ipad in half, the glass won't be the first thing to break.

no point other than to demonstrate a property of the material in a way you'd never test yourself, which is nice. so you know now...the "what if" i bent it, how far would it go. don't tell me you "knew" it would bend that far😛

Who cares about bending it? What about impacts at the sides and corners, which are BY FAR more likely to happen?

I've sat on my iPad 2 a couple of times now (usually when I careless toss it on my bed or chair and forget later), and it has withstood my weight well!

The original iPad's glass would often get riddled with cracks from relatively gentle side/corner impacts with a hard surface. The angle of the impact, temperature, temperature gradient, and manufacturing imperfections probably had a role in that. Last summer a dozen interns in my company all got iPads and 3 of them had broken screens by August from 1-3 foot drops onto a hard surface. And yes, that's an impressively clumsy group.

I was hoping he would slice open his fingers! Really, who the hell would attempt to break those screens with their hands?
