I've had crohn's disease since the age of 11. Damn has always flared up around september. This year I took my dad's advice and my sister's advice (who knew a kid with crohn's in Brazil, did the same thing) to cut milk from my diet. Heh, I'm a person that used to drink a gallon of milk every three days. It's been 2 months since my usual season and I think I can now safely say I'm better, Much better. I'll see how this plays out. Hopefully by the time I start college next year I'll be on lower dosegas and mantain my health. I guess I learned one thing. Listen to family!

If that's true you are one lucky SOB....Crohn's is horrid and lower doses of those meds is nothing but good for you....have you considered cutting even more dairy products from your meals??

Heh I guess I am. I was actually on prendison 20mg/ day for about 7 months. They say that medication has "mild sideaffects" rofl. I think I lost like 40 IQ points while on it. As soon as I was off it I was finally able to think clearly and sleep soundly. Hopefully I'll be able to reduce my pentasa(3 pills 3x/day 250mg each) dosage and purithinol (50mg/day).

Actually not much. I went from 125ish to 120 now. Though when I was in 7th grade I went from 145lbs to 100lb (I was on 40mg/day). I was one fat 7th grader heh. I think with some exersise I should get into the 130s. Btw I'm 18.

Off course, I think I have a compitent doctor!. I think I dropped on average like 2.5mg/week. It was like 15mg one day 10mg another then a week later like 10mg/ day then 10mg and 5mg alterating and so on until 5mg/0mg.

Coworker had to have 9 inches of his intenstine removed because his chrohns was so bad. He is much more comfortable now however 🙂

Congrats man. I'm taking a massive AIDS cocktail for my Crohn's and even that doesn't help that much. I've tried cutting everything from my diet but red meat. I'll stay on my meds for the rest of my life before I stop eating dead cow.
