WNBA rant.

I was so bored, and as I was browsing nba.com, out of sheer curiousity I clicked on a wnba.com link. First, I thought there were like 8/9 teams when the WNBA got started, now there are 16...So it's getting more popular? I don't understand it... I'm not tall - 5'10" and I'm not particularly athletic, but I can touch the rim when I jump. These females are 6'+ and yet I've never seen one of them even come close the rim, much less make a dunk. Their ball is smaller than the official NBA ball so it's easier to shoot, and the game play is absolutely terrible; they layup the ball by chucking it...no control whatsoever, they travel, doubledribble, foul, and the calls aren't called at all by the refs. It's actually exciting to watch female soccer/volleyball. WNBA is just trash.

actually lisa leslie has dunked a couple times in WNBA games and there was a player for tennessee that dunked for the first time ever in a college game (for women) last year. (just realized i know this--now i must shoot myself)

but i totally agree, WNBA sucks. how many times can you see a layup or a three pointer!? that is all they ever do!! arg

i think its pc to pretend to like the wnba, but tall women with baggy outfits not very appealing for the same reason womens figure skating is far more popular then mens.

some SOPHMORE girl at a high school right near my house dunked in a game a month ago.. it was the first girl in HS in the nation to ever dunk... and only a sophmore.. and she isnt super tall either

WBA games are soooooo boring. I'm sure some of the women could dunk, but instead they choose to clumsily throw the ball at the backboard as they come in near the basket. Where's the action and excitement in that? I'd rather watch a guys High School game!!

Yes, I remember watching ESPN, and Ahmad Rashaad was talking about the upcoming debut of WNBA. The game ball is actually smaller for WNBA than NBA... and they STILL CAN'T MAKE IT IN THE HOOP!!!

P.S. They gotta learn to pass too, and none of that over-the-head B.S. which leads to turnovers every 2 seconds.
