Windows Media Encoder doesn't work right on my system -- re-encoded MPEG2 videos come out jumpy. And this is after I spend an hour trying to figure that I can't re-encode with VBR audio for some reason. Fun stuff (I'm open to suggestions on this one). Windows Media Editor has a terrible interface (you can't even resize the window!), and doesn't appear to allow me to make multiple cuts (for instance, to remove commercials from a recorded TV program), only to trim from the beginning and end of files.
I've searched and searched, but haven't been able to find a decent editing program, or a third-party encoder, for WMV files (although I found a nice non-recoding MPEG2 NLE package, VideoReDo). Specifically, I'm looking to encode MPEG2 (not AVI!) to WMV, if that matters. Encoding to DivX/XVid is no problem -- but BeyondTV doesn't have great native support for them. I'm throwing myself on the mercy of the Software forum here, which means I'm getting desperate. Help?
