WMP won't play avi video, Why?

For a sec it says "attempting to download codec, attempt failed." Then it just plays the audio of the video. Why?

I could've sworn I already had DivX. is there a way to check?

Go to File -> Properties for the Codec name. If it's not DivX, you can dl the codec directly (do a google) and it should auto-install when you run the dl file.

There are two different codecs for DivX... or you can try the link Aves2k gave you, i use it... 🙂
