it probably depends on the way the windows media was encoded and what options they used, personally i dislike windows media formats, audio and video.. the audio format (wma) has always sounded bad here even though some people still swear it is better then mp3. i am guessing the audio encoding used in the DivX's you have viewed are not windows media which would explain why they sound ok .. just a guess though. as far as a solution i dont know of one. i have a few friends that can have decent audio playback of windows media files (audio and video) but not until they got a sound card, i think it was a soundblaster 3d. But you can not be sure that will solve the problem either, if you can find the same media in another format it might be a nice fix 😕
