WMP keeps executing when i insert my DVD...

Originally, my laptop would prompt me to which program i would like executing my dvd. I'd choose WinDVD.

After upgrading to WMP10, the same prompt comes up, but when i choose WinDVD WMP10 comes up...this is VERY VERY irritating...what can i do?

edit: i also forgot to mention that i changed the settings under WMP about file types and unchecked the DVD option...it would recheck it every single time...

That is usually an easy fix. Open My Computer, right click on your DVD drive, then Properties. In the AUTOPLAY tab, simply select Take No Action. That should be that. It will only run when you decide you want it to.

Another thing to check is Control Panel, Folder Options, and File Options (associations.) Look for your DVD video or movie and see what program is tied to it. WMP may write that in and that too is easily changed to WinDVD. I have mine set to PowerDVD 6.0. When I put a DVD movie disk in the drive, PowerDVD comes up, not WMP 10.

So - Autoplay and/or File Associaitons is your target.
