WMP crashes when "Open" is clicked ?

I have all updates from MS, and I am running XP Pro. It seems somewhere along the way I have gotten this error with WMP and whenever I select "Open" it crahes for no reason ??

Anyone have any ideas or suggestions ?

Some possibilities might be things like file-system/shell extensions, or stuff that intercepts the file-system like virus scanners. Any pattern to what 'changed' when it started happening?
