I cant seem to run any mpeg, avi, wmv, asf or any other format with this player if i click on a link from a webpage to the file...wmp7 pops up and says "Unable to access the media, you may not be connected to the network." but i know the files work because of people in the forum responding to the movies...any ideas? ive downloaded the lastest version w/ the new set of codecs....

download the nimo codec pack, also have you tried downloading the files to your computer and see if that works? have you tried doing file->open->url and pasting it in there?
 
Is there a reason you want to run WMP7 instead of 6.4? 7 seems to take up so much resources. From my exp 7 is something that is good in theory but doesn't always work.
