WMP 11 and LSASS.exe

Under idle, LSASS is doing nothing, as should be, but when I play an MP3 in windows media 11, LSASS.exe takes up 10-20% CPU. Anyone know whats up with this? This is an XP system. P4 3 GHZ with 1 GB of RAM.
