WMP 11 Album Art not downloading?

I'm in the midst of re-ripping my music collection in higher quality (I love big, cheap hard drives!), and as of this morning, WMP 11 is no longer automatically downloading album art. It gets album info just fine, but doesn't retrieve any art. This happens both on ripping and if I choose an existing album from my library (that downloaded art just fine yesterday) and choose "Find Album Info". No art.

I'm curious if it's a local problem or a server issue wherever the album art is served from. Anyone else having issues today?

If it's a local problem, anyone know how to delete my music library and force WMP to recreate it from scratch?

Thanks!

One thought - can someone who's using WMP 11 on Vista right click and album and choose Find Album Info? Let me know if it shows any album art in the window that pops up. Thanks!

Thanks very much for checking! Actually, I'm hoping that's good news and that it's a temporary server issue and not some weird problem on my side!

I guess I'll wait it out a bit.

Thanks, again, for taking the time to check.

Still having trouble. Is anyone else seeing album art when they right-click on an album and choose "Find Album Info"? Thanks in advance.

I was just about to post this. Yeah it's still doing it for me as well. The info shows up, but no cover art. Something must be wrong with the metaservices.

A few people over on the Microsoft Usenet Discussions have mentioned it and they said it sometimes takes a few *weeks* to fix. Ah, well.

I see album art but when I apply the album to my stuff, it doesn't save the art. It overwrites my song data but doesn't touch the image. :(

WMP doesn't actually embed the Album Art to the sound file - the album art is stored in the folder (you have to uncheck 'Hide Protected Operating System Files and check 'Show Hidden Files' in Explorer Folder Options) and the file just has a link to the image.

If you want to embed album art, use MediaMonkey. The advantage is that you get higher-res images from Amazon. I guess iTunes also embeds Album Art into the file but I have never tried that.
