Vista Ultimate 64Bit. Its a new system and all components are "compatible".

I will be using my comp and between 10 minutes and an hour my system freezes solid and I have to do a hard reboot. Checked the error logs and this comes up at the exact time of the freeze:

WMI Event ID 10 (and some database crap)

I tried this fix: Here

And even reinstalled it a few times. All my drivers are current.

Halp!

Is that bold stuff my problem?

Figured it out a while back, thought I'd share what my solution was.

For some strange reason the BIOS decided to turn my onboard sound back on, which was conflicting with my X-fi sound card. As soon as I went in and disabled the onboard sound...again, the crashing stopped.

Why that setting got changed is beyond me, because I only upgraded the OS, not the mobo.
