I dunno if MS is interested in cutting off WMC if someone gets it working. It may inadvertantly break during an update later but I doubt MS will purposely break the functionality.
I wonder why MS gave up on it to begin with. It seems like it was pretty popular.
Well, others have reported the Win10 upgrade/update has uninstalled apps that the update felt wasn't legal so why should they treat WMC any differently?

As I said, "others have reported". Beyond that I didn't commit details to memory as I'm not one upgrading. I just thought by mentioning this you might go look in the OS chat room and find out more.
Well, it's the very first time I've heard any reports of things actually disappearing because of windows update. I've seen people complain of stuff not working after an update with almost no way to roll back. I personally haven't had any trouble with Windows 10 updates. It seems to work fine. It never installs drivers over the top of what I have which is the most numerous complaint I've seen.
This is all off topic of course. I just thought there was something specific you knew about that we should watch out for.
