Weird problem.. i'm on a sandy bridge board (biostar h67+) and I'm using the IGP and sound over HDMI to my receiver.

I can get sound and video throughout using Windows, but any time I go to play back something, i get no audio. Or, i get audio for a second and then it starts looping and acting weird.

Please help! It's really annoying and I can't miss Game of Thrones! :)

What program(s) are you using for playback?

I'm not super familiar with Intel IGP so I don't have a lot of experience with getting that configured properly, but if windows is doing alright my guess would be that that is fine. A friend bought a core i3 setup after I showed him my media center and that was a PITA to get setup properly. (he wasn't using HDMI for audio however)

Check the audio setup for whatever program you are using.

I had a similar problem with audio looping with VLC and surround encoded stuff with an older sound card and I had to change an audio setting from spdif to 5.1 or something like that. I haven't had to mess with that type of setup for a while though.

If you have sound except when playing certain files, it might be an HDCP issue. Try the same video player (WMC) with a different video file. Or try another player like media player classic or VLC.
