WMA to MP3....whats the best program...preferably free

I downloaded ace high wma mp3 converter. It seems ok. First 10 are free then its $20 to buy a registration code. Is it worth it or are there other/better means? I ripped a bunch of my cds using WMP9 and didnt realize they were going into wma format. Instead of redoing them all using musicmatch or something similar I would rather convert them. Any and all suggestions appreciated.

meaning redo them?

there used to be an audio forum I guess this fits under software?

Fits under software.. anyways, how many do you have? I have 70 cds full of wma. I'm just gonna redo them all using Lame. I wouldn't trust any converter, cuz you'd probably lose quality.

yea, theres no clean conversion, you are photocopying a photocopy😛 rerip.. eac + lame or something🙂 and now u've learned ur lesson, microsoft is evil🙂

agreed...tis evil. It's not 70 cds of wmas but its a lot. I guess I will just redo them when I get a chance. I didnt have anything else installed so just went ahead and used WMP and its was pretty quick but now I regret it.

Yep, you'll lose quality converting from one lossy format to another. Btw there's plenty of free software packages out there, I don't deal with wma so can't be positive, but I think dbpoweramp (my program of choice, plus EAC of course for ripping) has a plugin for them.
