wma files and Ipod Touch

Will the Ipod Touch play WMA format files and if not, what is the easiest way to convert them? Will Itunes or Windows Media Player convert them or do I need a utility?

itunes will convert all files to be compatible

I am not that skilled in things Itunes but I do have it to get songs onto my Ipod. Normally if I load songs it doesn't seem to add them to Itunes unless I go in and find them in Itunes and add them to the directory. Are the wma files made compatable at that point or when I select them into my favorites or whatever that folder is that adds them to my Ipod when I sync?

I'd love to know how this works and does it work for videoj? as my itunes doesn't do this that i'm aware of. I thought it would/should, but it doesn't that i'm aware of. It just tells me there is an incompatible song/movie and doesn't copy it.

Thanks
