I'm looking for a program that can convert mp3 files to wma and the fly and burn them to a cd. Basically, for anyone who's ever used windows media player to copy files to a portable mp3 player, wmp will convert the
mp3 files to wma and copy them over, but it won't leave the wma files. Is there a program that can do this?

Please be aware that MP3 and WMA are both lossy compression formats, meaning that you lose some quality when converting MP3 and will lose even more when converting to WMA.

why not just go directly from mp3 -> CD and skip the WMA step?
BTW if you just copy mp3's with the explorer in windows it doesn't convert the files.

Yes, i'm aware that both are lossy. The reason i was wondering is because my new car stereo plays both mp3 and wma files, and i could conceivably fit more songs on in wma format than mp3 at a certain quality level. Since it's in my car, i obviously won't notice all the subtle nuances that are missing by using lossy compression, i was just wondering if there is a program that does it.
